Training Rides

We are building a community here at Second Summer Cycle. One that comes together regularly to uplift and support each other and our common goals. We invite you to join us throughout the year leading up to Second Summer Cycle.

From group training rides to fundraisers to information sessions, there are many ways to get involved with your fellow riders, volunteers, and sponsors before the ride. We hope to see you soon!

Weekly Training Rides-

Get ready for Second Summer Cycle with a fun and relaxed training ride!
Starting Memorial Day weekend, riders will meet every Saturday morning at 8:00 AM for an easy 20-mile round-trip ride along the beautiful Shining Sea Bikeway.
We’ll meet at the trailhead near the intersection of Route 151 and Route 28A in North Falmouth and ride 10 miles to Woods Hole. Once there, we’ll stop for coffee, snacks, and conversation before heading back.
This is a casual, welcoming ride open to all who would like to train together and enjoy the ride.
Please note: if it is raining on Saturday, the ride is often switched to Sunday.
For more information, please text Kathie Nutting at 603-738-2986

Beginner Training Ride

Thursday, July 23rd 5:30 pm:  at the Yarmouth Parking lot for the CC Rail Trail on Station Ave. We'll ride on the rail trail and share safety tips about riding in groups. This is a ride for beginners with a pace between 10-12 miles an hour. We'll ride between 12-20 miles, with a turn around at 6 and/or 10 miles, for ~1-2 hours depending on distance. NOTE: We've chosen this time as the bike path is relatively quiet in the evenings.
